So you have been wondering why you should join this club? Becoming an IEEE member gets you lots of benefits, including: access to IEEE.tv, IEEE Mentoring Connection program, IEEE magazines, etc. We have highlighted some benefits that are most relevant to students below.
Around the year, the branch hosts a series of academic events as well as career events. The most popular ones are the SPAC (Student Professional Awareness Conference) and the Grad Talks. By joining IEEE and helping out with organizing these events, you will be able to develop leadership and people skills and maintain a strong relation with industry leaders and renowned professors; and they might be your employer or academic supervisor in the near future!
As an IEEE member, you are eligible to supervise the Design Center (located on the basement of SF) for lunch break, evening sessions, and weekends.
Being the world's largest professional technology association, IEEE publishes a large amount of professional information each year, including academic journals, job postings and IEEE standards. IEEE members have exclusively free access to all of the information IEEE has published.
IEEE members receive the monthly Spectrum magazine for free.
IEEE Spectrum magazine is a monthly magazine for technology innovators, business leaders, and the intellectually curious.
